The Really Royal Royal Harbour
For the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Mooch worked with Hold Creative Spaces in Ramsgate to create the Really Royal Royal Harbour project. We had four days of amazing crown making workshops at the Hold venue and then down in Ramsgate’s Royal Harbour as part of the bank holiday celebrations in this beautiful seaside resort.
Inspired by the famous photo by Cecil Beaton of Queen Elizabeth’s Coronation, Mooch & Hold Creative Spaces developed this project with the main goal to make everyone in Ramsgate feel like a true Royal. Working with local suppliers, businesses and artists, we brought to Ramsgate a series of crown making workshops, where participants created and decorated their own Really Royal crown and a photo booth, where participants got to show off their new headpieces in a Really Royal portrait.
What a fantastic project this turned out to be! Incredible fun with hundreds of participants and their families and over 600 crowns were made and given away. Our very talented photographer, Storme Sabine, captured some really gorgeous portraits of our very regal crown wearers.
Huge thanks also goes out to the amazing Ramsgate town team who worked so hard over the Jubilee celebrations and also to all the local businesses, contributors and volunteers who helped make this Really Royal Royal Harbour project so memorable:
