Possibly the most fun Mooch has ever had! This project was commissioned via Seventeen Events for the Guardian Newspaper who wanted an interactive, family focussed activity as part of their presence at the Innocent Drinks Village Fete in Regents Park in July 2007.
Using the newspaper as basic building materials and working with the beautiful Park surroundings to create an alternative forest, Mooch set up a tree making tent and issued simple instructions for making paper trees which were then “planted” in the grass outside the tent.
This simple concept was a runaway success and over the weekend hundreds of people sat for hours making a fantastic variety of trees from tiny, basic, toddlers trees to amazing structures that defied their flimsy origins. Participants were invited to label their trees and many a proud picture was taken of adults and children alike posing by their creations.
At the end of the first day some serious weeding had to take place to allow space for the next days tree makers. The paper was sent to be recycled at the end of the hectic weekend to once again change from being trees into paper.
One of many, many tree labels.
The site on the first day...
The site at the end of the first day.
The making tent was a hive of creative activity.
The Forest became quite an attraction.
Two very proud makers, and rightly so!
The making tent was full for 2 days solid.
Whole families got stuck right in and labelled their creations.
Another proud maker!
