Lyon Light Journeys
This project was developed specifically for the Fetes des Lumieres, an annual event held in December in Lyon, France, that celebrates creativity with light. Mooch embraced the use of light and innovative materials and sourced support from UK based companies in order to take this interactive project to the Fetes as an introduction to mooch working in Europe.
Using an abstracted map of the town, overlaid on photoluminscent vinyl, participants were given tiny torches to track a route and use this light journey to consider how they use the streets and bridges, to see the shapes of these journeys and perhaps re-evaluate this process and discover new ways to use the City and challenge its hidden potential.
The Lyon maps were enormously well received, and were constantly inundated with participants of all ages queueing to explore and create some wonderful journeys and abstract shapes.
This mooch initiative was sponsored by Leaside Regeneration, Mirafield Graphics and Kemco Technology.
